Twice in the summer months, we host members of two other Mennonite congregations so that their pastoral teams can have a week off from worship organizing. This is one of those weeks! As such, we’re following the lectionary for our theme. This happens to be the thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, year B. The theme of this week in the lectionary is healing the sick. The four readings are 2 Samuel 1:1, 17-27; Psalm 130; 2 Corinthians 8:7-15, and Mark 5:21-43. This is also the holiday weekend associated with Canada Day.
Because of the national holiday and our hosting responsibilities, I decided to use a diversity-themed colouring sheet adapted from For Beautiful Black Boys Who Believe in a Better World (free).
