I love our enthusiasm for music in the Mennonite tradition. This week, our congregation is hosting a choir from a local Mennonite high school that many of our youth attend, and students from the school will be leading the worship. I’m not sure of their plans, so for the activity table, I’m going to go with the choral music theme. Music themes have gone well for us in the past – you can see other music-themed tables that I’ve put together here and here!

Musical instrument word-find game from Flanders Family Home Life (free).
Musical elements classroom doodles colouring pages from Doodle Art Alley (free) – I have used some of these in the past, but I like the gentle educational aspect.
Psalm 150:6 colouring sheet from Flame Creative Kids (free).
Label the parts of the staff worksheet from TPT (free).
The Choir Cheat Sheet from TPT (free).
Solfege starter song with Kodaly hand signs from TPT (free).

Not the prettiest table this week – but lots of efficient content!
Small Display
We had an under-used bulletin board in our narthex, so over the past several months, I have been surreptitiously adding bits and pieces from the activity table to it to display some of the end results of the resources. Some are examples I’ve made, and some are things that kids have left on the table after service. I don’t know how long it will last, but I’m enjoying it for now!

Some New Additions

I’ve been doing some low-cost updates to our materials, including making sure that there are self-contained sharpeners in all of our pencil cases that have pencil crayons, and making sure that all our colouring materials have sustainable cases, rather than being stuck in Ziplock bags as they originally were. In all of this, I also grabbed a few papercraft items just from our local dollar store that I will use for future tables!
