My name is emmy, and I attend a progressive Mennonite conference church in Ontario, Canada. I grew up with my grandmother telling me that idle hands were the devil’s playthings – and I must have listened, because I focus best when my hands are busy! In order to contribute to our congregation being inclusive to people of all ages who may be able to best participate in worship when they have something tangible to do, I prepare a weekly prayerful activity table full of resources to engage with during weekly worship services. They change week to week according to the theme of our service. I wanted to share these resources so that people from our congregation who worship from home via Zoom or physical mailouts can find them and engage with them if they want to, but also so that they’re available to people who might be doing faith formation or ministries of their own, homeschooling, Bible study – however you build your relationship with God. As time goes on, I may share other creative resources from projects that my partner and I work on related to our Mennonite faith as well!
